Staircase to the 2nd Floor

Staircase to the 2nd Floor This is a marble staircase to match the entrance hall. The stair wall is in Adam green and the rear wall is in Georgian cream colour. The walls are decorated with gold panels and egg-and-dart coving. There are French doors leading to the Ballroom. A nice feature here is the curved Georgian style handrail. One of the wrought iron spindles actually passes through the horizontal handrail, and links the two bannister rails together. The horizontal bannister rail actually curves around at the back to join the lower handrail to the ground floor. This is in genuine Georgian style. |
